Mitsubishi has developed a special motor for the EM-A series with the patented “salient-pole core”. The pole cores have a permanent magnet, which changes the motor inductance depending on the rotation position. This change in inductance is applied to the sensorless control. This high-quality sensorless control technology realizes precise speed control and positioning.
But this arrangement has even more advantages over the traditional induction motor.
Format:
The optimal shape of the motor core for sensorless control achieves a volume reduction of 50 to 60% and a mass reduction of 30 to 50% compared to induction motors.
Energy saving:
This new motor is above the efficiency class IE5. This means that the EM-A series motors use less electricity, which is good for the wallet but also contributes to less CO2 emissions.
Globalization:
EM-A series magnetic motors do not require the high-efficiency certification, which makes it easy to apply in any country and easy to apply to equipment that needs to be exported
Costs:
What is interesting for all machine builders and end users, “what does it cost”!
We made a comparison:
Savings:
For comparison purposes, we have put together a 0.75 kW solution with all the necessary components.
Mitsubishi Servo solution
MR-JE-70A Digital AC-Servo Amplifier and a HG-KN73JK Servo Motor 750W.
( €1671,- for the complete set)
Mitsubishi EM-A solution
FR-E820S-0050-4-60 0.75kW inverter with an EM-AMF 0.75KW motor
( €1,098 for the complete set)
This solution offers a cost saving of 34% in this setup
Performance:
Speed control
The EM-A series realizes high precision speed by using Mitsubishi's unique PM sensorless vector control which causes no speed variation even under changing load
The series can be applied with high precision in the production of semiconductors and in production lines where precise dosing of liquids is required.
The operation is resistant to load fluctuations at a stable speed.
Speed variation: ±0.05%
Speed control range: 1:1300 (max. speed 4000 RPM)
The servo lock function generates torque when the motor stops and can thus prevent movement even under external force.
Positioning
The combination of the newly developed motor and Mitsubishi high-quality sensorless control technology, realizes high-precision speed control and positioning control without encoder.
The positioning function (point table method) can be used using digital inputs or communication (CC Link IE Field, CC link IE TSN, Modbus TCP/IP etc). In addition, it is also possible to respond to a pulse train.
Positioning accuracy: 200 p/rev = 1.8° (360°/200)
Drive module position command resolution: 4096 p/rev
Usage
The global PM motor of “EM-A series” can be driven by standard inverters of FR-E800 series (230VAC single phase and 400VAC three phase).
